This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Nice looking brew hazy copper body with a stupidly long lasting 2" creamy cap. Subtle aroma.......WOW!!! VBS is correct I smell coconut why do I smell coconut?!?!? Flowers, sweet malts, cabbage patch dolls...The aroma is odd yet pleasant but nothing I would look for in an IPA. Taste also is loaded with coconut and fake air freshener, not good, not bad, nothing I want in an IPA. A mild but heavy bitter shows up in the finish. Kind of lemon but not really with a big earthy character. Very unique beer I will never want again.

Pours copper with good clarity and creamy, fading head. Bright, clean aroma boasts lemon and black pepper notes. The flavor is dry and citrusy, but more complex than that sounds. Really excellent flavor, this hop is so unique that it is hard to describe at first impression. I will definitely pick this up again before it's gone. Medium bodied, perfectly carbonated, a delight.

i dig the sorachi ace hop for it's unique lemony earthy soap-like qualities, and so this one will probably end up on of my favorites. easy drinking yet a standout.

Draught@CPH BF 2011. Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is fruits, caramel, some toffee and mild earthyness. Flavour is fruity and spicy with some mild maltyness as well.
