Had this tonight at the Devil's Den in South Philly. Paid half price at happy hour, so why not? I was let down, though. Flavor was pretty strong but seemed artificial. Looked pretty nice with a reddish color and nice head, but all down hill after that. Not worth the price.

Golden brown with a glowing red light a soft creamy cap produced during pour floats on the top, tons of lacing left on every sip. Aroma is mild and soft, Belgian style yeast, very mild Disaronno liquor, I'm trying to smell cherry but I think I'm fooling my self....it might be there but I'm not sure. Thick soft mouth feel, very creamy. Big whiff of bulk almonds just hit me. Just poured the rest of the bottle into the glass and small floaties are every where. Belgian yeast profile, leathery earth that I'm associating with hop bitterness, cherry port in the finish and after taste. I WANT MORE CHERRY!!! Every third sip I get hints of vanilla but its faint. Man is this easy to drink. Picking up sour notes the warmer it gets. Good beer glad I drank it.....This kick-ass mouth feel has made the marks to high, but it is what it is.

unfortunately for me and my wallet, i gotta go with the general consensus on this one. the cherry and almond scarcely made their presence known in this rice ale that looked promising, but ended up tasting like a suped up macro beer, or micro pils at best. the body was thin and highly carbonated, and the flavor, while having a touch of sweetness, had no follow through, and i found the fruit lacking, and the beer to be quite boring. one of mikkeller's worst and a price gouge at over $10.

I had this new Mikkeller offering on Christmas 2010. This was one of many lambic offerings that evening and I will say that this was the best of the lot. It was tart and had cherry notes. The beer was a cloudy pink color and smelled funky. I enjoyed this beer.
