My bottle of this was labeled “Mikkeller Hoppy Easter” but after research I guess it’s this beer. German IPA you say….not exactly sure what that is but ok. Brew produced a massive nipple cap during the pour floating on a cloudy honey brown body! Hops, apple, orange peel, a weird not harsh harshness, nothing really that I’d call malt. Wait!?!?! Am I supposed to wearing lederhosen while drinking this? Aroma is what it is. Man this is easy drinking stuff you can just slam it. Taste like your standard IPA to me I’m not detecting anything German about it. I don’t taste any of the “munich” or “pilsner” malts that other people seem to taste. I taste lovely bitter hops more on the orange side, some pine, sweet malts, and touches of earth. I guess the only German thing I did notice was a slight bit of apple in the nose you know that kind of apple you get in their lagers, but that’s it. Good beer I’d drink it again but I’ll never myself purchase it. And now I must go polka and eat sausage.

330 ml bottle, batch 01.01, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 6.6%. Malts are pilsener, pale and münchener (+ flaked oats), hops are Tomahawk for bittering and Tettnanger for aroma. Hazy golden colour, huge white head. Herbal and slightly spicy aroma, soon overtaken by less pleasant strong notes of stale orange marmalade. Lagerish mouthfeel. The flavour is initially refreshing, but is soon dominated by notes of stale orange marmalade again. Moderately bitter finish. Mikkeller’s least successful beer so far? Drinkable of course - but hey, this is Mikkeller, I expect something better than this!

Bottled@Fonefan. Golden colour with mediumsized foamy head. Aroma is fruity and grassy hops along with mild earthyness. Flavour is grassy, fruity, earthy and mildly yeasty. Quite pleasant balance. Different touch to an IPA.

Hoppy Easter. This was a unique beer, but once that novelty wore off, it was kind of a miss. grassy lemony aroma, with bavarian yeast? in the aroma. what's a german ipa anyway? look is light...kinda like a hefe. feel light too. flavor is nice, but pretty weak for an ipa. a little bitter in the finish. more lemon than anything else. probably won't try again.

Sampled on 4/23/2010. This IPA pours a hazy orange gold color from a 33cl bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, with nice lacing and good retention. The aroma is floral and herbal hops, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are floral and spicy. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Not a lot of hop bitterness, but nice hop flavors. Anybody check out the “Hoppy Easter” bottle label? The bunny is hiding beer, carting a basket of hops cones and wearing a Mikkeller T-shirt. That is one seriously cool bunny! Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Had as "Hoppy Easter." Pours a hazy golden amber with a fairly thick cream-white head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity, the latter mainly orange. Richly, downright fiercely hoppy flavor has undertones of orange, evergreen and malty. Texture is fairly smooth yet lively and fizzy. A must for hop lovers.

Pours out in a cloudy orange colour with a rich lively long lasting white head. Resin, wet grass, cookies and mild caramel in the hoppy aroma. Medium to full-bodied with strong dryish hoppy notes of wet grass, orange-peels, resin, white pepper and mild minerals. Long bitter finish of wet grass. Interesting and tasty stuff.
