This medium bodied, light copper colored Belgian Strong Ale is made with fresh New England maple syrup. The full palette of flavor is highlighted by a slight sweetness coupled with subtle smokey, woody undertones. Built on Belgian Pilsner, Munich, Biscuit and aromatic malts and rounded out with Noble hops, this beer is robust and delicious.

This was a special release at the Portland Holiday Ale Festival that I had on day 2. I never heard of this brewery before, so I was interested to try it. Beer poured with a little head, but had a nice, red-brown color. Smelled like sweet maple syrup. Medium-full body and quite sweet. Belgian yeast noticeable. Pretty strong, and not really any hop presence. Finishes with pear and clove. Interesting beer, but too sweet and strong for my tastes.
