Dolly Varden Trout are full-bodied, so is our IPA. A well-hopped, deep-golden ale with malty, full-bodied taste and refreshing finish.

drank poured from a bottle years ago when it was still brewed by Metolius. Notes say it poured a thick head with lots of lacing. hop flavor and aroma. nothing special in a IPA. maybe that's why no longer made/

Pretty below standard for an oregon IPA. Has all the right characteristics, but not much there. Medium bodied to thin, grapefruit and pine. Touch of floral, pretty much what you would expect form an IPA in a average canadian brewpub

my dad-in-law got this one at a grocery outlet, so it may be just past it's prime, but there's no date. the hop aroma and flavor are there, but not very floral or aromatic, and it's a bit malt/spice/fruit heavy for my taste. medium-well bodied, ornage with small white head. even compared to east coast ipa's, the hops (simcoe?) are overpowered by the malt and probably a little old...not the brewer's fault, but it's all i got. not good enough to have again.

I have no idea where my friend picked this up, but it is quite delicious. A floral and fruity aroma, and a great hop combination. The hops aren't too overpowering, but sit safely in the realm of tasty IPA without pretending to be anything else. Thick foamy head leaves a lot of lacing around the glass. A great IPA; no surprise it came out of Portland.
