Type of IPA from the 19th Century England, brewed to endure export to India and the English colonies. These beers were brewed stronger and with more hops (which are antibiotic) for the long and often warm journey by ship. For our Raptor, we use a mixture of intercontinental methods and ingredients (Czech, English, and American). It is interesting that we export our Raptor back home (to England).

750 ml capped bottle, bought at Žly Časý, Praha. Poured in the original Matuška nonick pint glass an unfiltered and hazy orange-copper coloured IPA with a one finger light beige and soapy foamy head that had a long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is moderate sweety malts, caramel, spicy, strong cinnamom, fruity tones, oranges, grapefruits and moderate aromatic hops, pine. The flavour is deep aromatic hops, pine, caramel malts and juicy fruits, oranges, mandarins, grapefruits, tropical fruits. The mouthfeel is crispy, creamy, a bit sticky and hoppy bitter. The texture is oily. This medium to full bodied IPA has a long hoppy bitter and fruity finish. I expected more from this Intercontinental IPA from the young Brewer-Star, Adam Matuška.
