Beer appears cloudy yellow beige with a half inch noisy cap, very standard looking witbier. Massive orange aroma with lemon lime and a variety of different sour chewy candies depending on what sniff I take, can’t seem to detect any malt the citrus is just overpowering it. This smells so different I’ve never smelt a beer like it before. Taste also has an over the top orange flavor that’s almost completely blocking out any malt there is a wheat flavor that’s detectable and that combined with the orange is creating a flavor somewhat like a creamscle. I don’t seem to notice any spice in the flavor. This taste so different than any beer I’ve ever tasted, it’s almost to citrusy for the style but I enjoy it a lot. I’d give this a drink again if I ever come across it. Wholly crap even my burp tasted like sprite.

Being sketpical about this beer prior to tasting, I was shocked when I smelt it and tasted it - in a good way? I haven't decided yet... Light light gold brew that produced a large, rocky white rice krispy sounding crown. Lots of constant bubbling helps the retension of the cap to a steady level just above total cover - zero lacing. The aroma is, well, suprising and very huge. Very sweet and candied with tangerines, lemons and cherries blended nicely. Slight soft spice and wheatiness. Man, this stuff is really fragrant and thick. The taste is over the top with a strange spice being fairly obvious. Strangely sour and tart - this follows as a dominant middle-sip flavour. Miscelaneous fruit blend (very close to Minuite Maid Fruit Punch). Ends with solid earthy notes, musty impressions and dry wheat. Nearing medium bodied. The heavy carbonation is very well done although many times, including my first impression, conjour up thoughts of pop. Sour and acidic in the mouth, finishes dry with lingering sourness. At a couple of points I was convinced that there was a bitterness that should not be there. This beer is weird and definetly not a session beer as I don't think I would want more than one or two...maybe none. The aroma and especially the flavour are very intense for a witbier and quite out of the normal range of what one would expect. I'm giving it extra marks on its uniqueness which is even stranger considering that I do not entirely like this. It could be in the range of 2.5 or lower on the right day.

Clarification: Label reads MaDonna White Beer, Traditional Belgium Brew. Great witbier, would make a nice summer session brew. Pours a nice pale golden color that appears to glow in my glass, minimal head and lacing. The beer looks thick and the bubbles take their time floating to the top thus emphasizing that this is a take it easy brew. There is a crisp floral aroma with citrus flavors of grapefruit and lemon along with an earthy tone. The flavor is remarkable and unlike any other Belgium style I have sampled. The first wave of flavor are the citrus fruits, followed by some well balanced wheat malts. The cirtus notes come back again but bring a sour quality that really creates a nice easy flavor. The mouthfeel is crisp and full, the finish is sweet and sour. I enjoyed some of these during the early spring season and it really deemed itself as an appropriate beer for enjoyable weather. A Romanian beer with a different approach to the Witbier style that is well played.

An interesting beer with the label reading "wheat beer" (at least I thought that's all it said). I was shocked to taste more belgian-ness in it, and beerpal has properly characterized it as a witbier. Aroma was a little musty with wheat and fruits coming through. The flavor was odd, with a clear wheat base, but a significant sweet-sour dominance from a fruit punch type taste of cherries, apples, and grapes. Kinda funky lambic tasting (never had a witbier that runs this noticeably sour, although it was sweet too). The appearance was typical of a wheat beer (nice small head and straw-gold appearance). I kinda like it, but don't expect a typical witbier. Price is pretty good for an import.
