Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5
22oz bottle -
Aroma - very subdued for a IIPA, floral notes with some light cattyness and hand soap. Had to swirl several times to keep getting notes.
Appearance - burnt amber body, very light haze, 2-finger foamy head, average rentention, light lacing
Mouthfeel - medium carbonation, medium mouthfeel, a touch of alcohol burn
Flavor - caramel malt buries a majority of the hop flavors, but there is some vegetal bitterness in the quick finish. The malt hides the nearly 10% very well.
Overall - a malt bomb that fails to satisfy the hop craving. While far from overly-sweet, it's too unbalanced for my liking in a IIPA. Could have passed for a malty IPA.
