Gift from Cottrell. Comes out every four years to help get out the vote. Foamy head. Red-brown, mahogany color. Slightly smokey aroma, like pipe tobacco. Complex taste: smokey BBQ, and sweet toffee. Light body. Bitter, drying aftertaste. An extravagant reward for having done one's civic duty--too nice to serve only in election years!

Tap @ Blind Tiger. I really enjoyed this stuff. Nice nutty taste along with a creamy caramel. Mellow bitterness and nice malty aroma. Taste somehow wasn’t as sweet as I describe it but really drinkable. I’d like to see this a bit more often.

Only comes out once every four years? Blast! Time to stock up. Pours a dark brown with an average sized head and adequate lacing. Aroma is sweet chocolate, caramel, and a floral hoppy scent. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, lightly carbonated, and exceptionally smooth. Flavors include chocolate, toffee, caramel, and hints of molasses, as well as a finishing dryness that highlights some nuttiness and earthy hop flavor. Very complex for such a low gravity beer. This is one of Magic Hat's few beers that I felt the Ringwood yeast helped more than it hurt. Very nice.

Magic Hat, what is this brewery run by tripping hippies? Not a bad beer nothing to really anticipate. You get what you pay for.
