Not for the faint-hearted! Our stout rewards the palate with robust flavors of roasted malts (malts are roasted like coffee beans) and heavy hops. A creamy smooth suprise.

Single bomber from the LCBO. Pours a dark brown colour with light red-cola highlights. Frothy beige head with good retention and some creamy-thick lacing. Mild roasted malt nose with some nice spiciness from the hops and notes of chocolate, licorice and vanilla. The same for the taste with some good well-blended bitterness from the hops, over the roasted malts that are smooth-down by the oatmeal. Hints of chocolate, vanilla and coffee. Quite nice for a 5.8% ABV. stout that goes down nicely, as everything is on the mild side, but all delicious.

Pours out a 99% black with a rich thick lingering tan head. The aroma is of malt, light hop and coffee. The mouthfeel is smooth and thick like chocolate. The taste is heavy malt with light bitter coffee notes.

Pours a large frothy brownish head. Has a clean, dark brown appearance. Lacing is ok. Aromas of coffee, dark roasted malts and earthy hops. Flavours of dark chocolate, roasted malts, light caramel and toffee notes as well as toasty and nutty malts. Also some hints of vanilla. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Lively carbonation. Really smooth and easy going down. Displayed as a strong beer at 5.8%, but quite deceptive as it does not feel like a strong beer whatsoever.

Bottle - pours a dark clear brown with ruby highlights....thick 3 finger mocha cap lasts and laces. Aroma is rather demure but the roasty cocoa/coffee tones are there. Flavour is rather relaxed for a big stout but very tasty - lots of roasty flavour with hops in tow...clean balanced finish, light hoppy end. Very drinkable ...about what you'd like in a draught sessioning stout...however, for my tastes a tad thin and tame.

The beer pours a solid black colour with a half inch tan coloured head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. All well defined. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour mirrors the aroma, and there is a dryness to it. A very good stout, nothing spectacular, but nothing at fault, either. -

With a name like 8 ball, I was expecting this to be an 8% stout, quite surprised that it isn't. A very dark brown pour with a half inch creamy beige cap. Lots of roasted malt and chocolate in the aroma, milk chocolate at that. Flavour is nuts, chocolate, coffee, and some cherry vanilla hints. I liked it a lot.

Got this in a trade. Aroma is rich and strong, smoky with a firm molasses component and tones of coffee and miso. It pours a deep, opaque sable almost as black as an 8-ball with a thick, if not persistent, tan head. Smoky flavor has coffee, unsweet chocolate, nutty, and toffee tones with hints of molasses and caramel. Texture is on the thin side for a stout, but still pleasing, smooth and subtly fizzy. Don't get behind the 8-ball - get this one in your belly!

Drinking this at the brewery right now. Nearly black in color with a good tan head. Not a whole lot of aroma. Roasted malt and lightly sweet, maybe a little coffee. Ligh medium body and a bit of carbonation in the texture. I wasn't impressed but it's not a bad beer.

This is a very good stout, but it is on the lighter side if you are expecting a strong thick stout. 8-ball has hints of chocolate and coffee, with a slight malt finish.....medium ABV%. It says 5% above, but it's actually closer to 6% (5.9%). This is a good daytime/early evening beer if you want something dark that isn't 8-12%.
