Originally brewed in England for the British troops stationed in India during the 18th century, increased amounts of hops and higher alcohol content (both natural preservatives) were needed for the beer to survive the long sea voyage. Medium body with high hop bitterness, flavour and aroma keep this beer true to its original style.

568ml can from Central City. 568ml - what a dumb size. Touted on the label as "The Big One". Really? First beer I've had from these guys in a few years. Good to see that it is now available other than at the brewpub. Clear amber-orange pour with a brief, off-white head. Barely a ring from this. Lightweight aroma, mostly floral, some hop, no pine, a bit of citrus. Flavour not so bad but nothing memorable, some malt and citrus. Mouthfeel on the light side. Bitter finish. Average at best.
