Smells of burnt corn and even more burned rice. No malt aroma to speak of. Not much in the way of hops, either. Pretty much, a bland, boring beer. Pours out the typical American standard yellow, pale and transparent also. Thin body, not much balance in this beer. I've had better beers by far. Aromas of fruit in it for some reason, like rotten bananas, and maybe stale figs. Weird for a macro swill. I won't be going out of my way to buy this beer again, that's for sure. Good thing I only bought one to try, huh?

Tall can from LCBO. Pours a big foamy bubbly white head that dissipates to a thin layer and has a clear straw coloured appearance. Average lacing. Aromas are grainy, malty, herbal. Flavours are bland grainy malts, a bit of corn and light wheaty notes. Dry mouthfeel. Nothing special here.

Can that pours a clean, very light yellow colour with a whitish cap, average stay and light foam lacing. Sweet malty nose with the corn notes and bad chemical hops. Tastes the same with the smoothness of corn that many people like. Not the grossest, but fairly rich and hard going down. Gonna eat Doritos to go with the corn right now.

The beer pours a translucent pale straw colour with a huge generous bubbly white head which disappears faster than the blink of an eye. Effervescence is larger than normal bubbles. One could easily read the newspaper through this beer. The aroma is corn, grass, alcohol, and weak earthy hops. The mouthfeel is weak to medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is sweet malt with a bitter hop finish. My first BMC product in ages, and it will be ages before I try another one. -

Sampled from a bottle. This is a pale yellow color with a white head. Plenty of carbonation. Not much aroma, but the taste has some malt flavor and a distinct flavor of syrup. Only very lightly bitter, with a slight taste of grassy hops. Best drunk cold. Quite refreshing, but not very characterful.

I guess you need to be from Texas to like this beer. The best thing I can say about Lone Star. Is that after drinking five or six of them. Your ready to ride the mechanical bull. That and they are fun to hold while wearing cowboy boot.

From bottle and too cold. Tasted quite bitter and somewhat high carbonated. Too bad I could not poor in glass. Still bit too watery and therefor good for thurst, but not the Texan best beer.

Aroma is - well, crisp and malty, but lacking complexity. At least it smells like a beer, albeit an industrial brew. It pours a typical clear straw yellow, not much head. Flavor is - meh, a little malty, that's all. I've had "lite" beers with more flavor. Texture is fizzy but rather watery. I had to try it, and at least now I know.

Pours clear yellow with a white foamy head with fair retention and spotty lacing. The aroma is somewhat sweet with grain, corn, and hops. The taste is somewhat sweet, with corn, grain, and hops. The hops provide a little balance to the sweetness. the mouthfeel is light bodied, plenty of carbonation, not much aftertaste.

Your basic swill here. What can I say that has not already been said. Pale yellow lager with no head. Smells and tastes of corn. Sour finish. Not good. Just not good.

Sampled on 4/6/2009. This Pale lager pours a light yellow color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized wispy white foamy head, no retention and no lacing. The aroma is cereal, corn, cereal and grainy. A light to medium bodied Pale Lager. The malts are cereal and grainy. The hops are (sorry what hops) are spicy. Lively carbonation. Its sweet, thin and watery, has a aftertaste that is somewhere between cardboard and wet dog. Yup it tastes just like I recall the old Lone Star Beer I had in San Antonio years ago, in which all I can say it was better than Pearl. Actually it’s a fairly typical Macro Pale Lager. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
