This Belgian Style Red Ale was brewed with the Belgian Ardennes yeast strain in October 2009 and aged in Cabernet Franc barrels for 13 months. It was then blended in a tank with the 2010 Brewdolph. It has a malty and creamy body, a mild fruitiness, and a spicy, oak flavor.

I got to try this at the Portland Holiday Ale Festival a couple weeks ago. Had medium brown color with an off white head. The fruity spice in the aroma was an interesting tweak on this Belgian ale, thanks to the cabernet barrels. Fairly smooth, light-medium body. Flavors of apple and pear, plus some dark fruit from the barrel aging. Interesting and worth a try.
