On tap at Lodi Beer Co. - To have a beer with a WARNING!! description, you'd better be one f'n good beer. Plus it says BIG MALT, BIG HOPS, BIG ALCOHOL! Well, this had none of that. In fact my homebrewed APA has more hops than this. Was it bad? Not really. Was it an IPA? Not really. An aroma of catpiss, which my friend and I discussed could have only been either Columbus, Chinook or Cascade hops. I didn't get any piney/citrusy hop character...just catpiss which was fairly overwhelming. Appearance was light in color, yellow and hazy. Mouthfeel was decent. Flavors had more of the catpiss but it did finish nicely. If they were to call this just an American Pale, I could see but to call it an IPA with a WARNING description? C'mon guys!
