This refreshing summertime brew is named after Professor Harry Darnell, who used to fly his hot air balloon over Electric Park during the warm, summer months. He would perform a trapeze act from the balloon and unfortunately, but not unexpectedly, fell to his death in 1911. No one claimed his body, so the village of Plainfield erected a small monument in his honor. Now we raise our glasses to celebrate the kindness in this community that gave him a proper burial. Now LBC gives him a proper Berry Ale made in the same style as our Wheatlander. It is a traditional Hefeweizen, but has a slightly sweet aroma and a hint of raspberry.
