For 17 of the 25 years I lived in Germany this was my one and only beer, it all started after I went on a guided tour of the brewery in Lich. Naturally at the end of the tour we were offered our choice of their products, I choose the Pilsner. Our tour guide explained that to enjoy the Pilsner to the fullest extent the beer must be served at a temperature between 38 and 42 degrees F. I have discovered over the years that he was totally correct. The forced draught is my favorite, I even built a bar in my cellar with a forced draught system, I always insured my beer was kept at 38 degrees F. Licher aus dem herzen der natur.

Pale yellow with white foam head. Are curious how this tastes different than the Export version. Little more barley taste. Short lasting aftertaste. (Frankfurt 201403)

Had the pleasure of living in Germany for some time and this was like my Pabst at the time. It was the local favorite and at every party. It's really not all that remarkable but I do have very fond memories and would love to drink it again.

Doing this one off of memory, i had several of these in Germany a few years back. It was a decent German pilsner slightly sweet, grassy, and well carbonated. Rather average but not too bad.

"Best Beer Bargain In Town $5.99" said the sign on the stack of six-packs in the beer store. Of course, I bit! Poured into a pilsner glass, huge white head with lots of staying power, clear light yellow color. Heavy lacing, for a pils, lasted all the way to the bottom. Malt dominates the nose, with just a hint of hops. Compared to an american macro light lager, very flavorful; compared to really good Czech/German pilsners, just so-so. Mouthfeel is full-bodied for the style, goes down smoothly, slightly grassy-hop finish. Overall, as a european pilsner, it's just average; but for a buck a bottle, pretty damn nice!

Not sure if you can get this in the states, but it was brought back from Germany by a customer of mine who really liked this beer. It was eventually passed along to me and I enjoyed it last night on 4/20. Poured a bright bright golden colour with a fairly large white head. What I liked most about this beer was it's resinous sticky lacing it left behind. I was picturing it dissapear quickly and leave no trace behind. But I was suprised. Aroma was pretty average, malts and grain and some hops on the nose. Taste wasn't too grassy but pretty well balanced and firm in the mouthfeel. Overall fairly decent brew.

A plain old average beer, relative to other fresh German pils taps I've had (in other words, I'd take this over a watered down American version, but not much more than that. The grass was tame, light grassy hop finish. The flavor was slightly weak. Lacing and golden bubbly appearance were the highlight.

A decent enough pils, tastes like what it is, a German macro brew. Don't really feel like drinking this out of a glass so it was out of the can, which I don't like to do that often. Tastes alright, pretty smooth. Don't think I would have it again, hoewever.
