The Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company is introducing a new year-round beer, Classic Amber. A 100 percent malted lager, “Leinie’s Classic” features Leinenkugel’s own unique blend of two-row and six-row malts and four varieties of hops. A blend of Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts offer a complex flavor, with four different hops (Cluster, Cascade, Mt. Hood, and Hallertau) to balance the malts. Acknowledging their German heritage, Leinenkugel’s brewed Classic Amber in Reinheitsgebot tradition, where the only ingredients permitted are malts, water, hops, and yeast. Classic Amber is Leinenkugel’s first year round beer launch since Sunset Wheat in 2006. It contains 4.9%-ABV and is 21 IBUs. The beer will be available on draft in the Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin area beginning February 2, and will then roll out on draft to the state of Wisconsin in mid-February before it is unveiled nationally on March 1. Mark your calendars, boys and girls.

pours an amber color. Medium sized foamy head. Aroma is cerealy and grainy, some malt. The hops are spicy, floral. Good carbonation. Clean and crisp. Not a lot of flavor, but nothing offensive. Light and refreshing.

so you might wonder why I have this at $6 for 12 oz. Its because the only place I buy it is Lambeau Field. Out of the many offering (miller, miller lite, mgd, etc) there are only a few beers you can get that are good and this is the better affordable one. A hint of chocolate here, some hoppiness there, mouthfeel is more watery but it has a good kick of alcohol if you're a lightweight like me. And if you are looking for where to buy beer in Lambeau look around for one of the 3-4 places called "Draft Picks" otherwise down one of these leinie ambers at the Leinie Lodge and pretend to be happpy. Dang shame Lambeau still doesn't have Titletown beer, especially Johnny Blood or Canadeo Gold at the very least.

pours a clear amber-orange with a film-like off white head leaving some spotty lacing. The aroma is strongly of skunky corn, with some grain and roasted, fruit-like malts. The taste is bright grain, corn, sweet malts with a bitter grassy side. The mouthfeel is medium feel, carbonated well.

Pours a medium dark amber with a big white head. Not much there for aroma and mouth feel is average. Taste is slightly heavy on the metallic side and a little bland. Overall a brew I will be skipping in the future but it is not too bad.

Another in a long line of bland amber ales/lagers available in the gool ol' US of A. This one is more of an orangy-rust colour than an amber. Caramel and weak citrus dominate the aroma while the flavour is mainly metallic grains. Good on ocassion.

yeah....pppphhffffftttt! this is the type of amber that makes beer people not like ambers. not offensive, just boring - light in body, color, flavor, and aroma. malt heavy and a little refreshing, but below avg.

In my opinion the best Leinenkugels made. Nice dark amber color, with good head and lacing. great deep toasted malt flavor.Far superior to the regular Leinies.

Sampled on 9/13/2010. This lager pours a very light amber color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is cereal and grain, some malt and spicy. A medium to light bodied premium lager. The malts are cereal and grain. The hops are spicy and slightly floral. Good carbonation. Clean and crisp. Not a lot of flavor, but nothing offensive. Light and refreshing. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp, clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

How do you pronounce this beer's name??? Who cares. It sucks. This is one of the most overated beers that I've ever had. Take one pint off all reviews and it would be more acurate. Just because it's cheap doesn't make it good! Maybe that should be Leinenkugels new logo.
