Our Blue Dog Rabid Hops Ale is an Altbier brewed in the classic German-style brown ale tradition. The “alt” translates to "old" in German and is one of the original ale types brewed in Germany. Rabid Hops Ale is dark brown in color, with medium carbonation and a great balance between malt and the Saaz hops. The Saaz hop is imported from the Czech Republic and is famous for its spicy, clean bitterness. ABV is 5.0%.

I had Legacy Blue Dog Rabid Hops Ale on tap at the Grey Lodge. It poured a dark brown color which kind of surprised me (thought it was a IPA from the name-not a dark alt). The taste seemed more malty than hops with a nice citrus taste and some minor bitterness. Solid alt.
