Nice. Poured a decent amount of creamy head. Looks great, very dark brown colour. Pretty weak lacing. Aroma of coffee grinds and hints of caramel and some spices. Tasting very much of oats, strong coffee and some chocolate flavours. Quite a thick mouthfeel. Aftertaste is a bit tingly, but that's a good thing. Can't go wrong with a beer that 'borrows' my family name! ;)

Rich, smoky aroma has an overtone of charred wood and a firm underpinning of semi-sweet chocolate. It pours an opaque dark-chocolate brown with a thick, if not too persistent, light tan head. Flavor has good tones of unsweet chocolate, toffee and roast coffee plus hints of oak and licorice. Texture is fairly fizzy and smooth, a teensy on the thin side for a stout but still enjoyable.

ooooooo! Poured black (didn’t have a clue that was going to happen!), large, thick deep brown head with excellent lacing and retention. The aroma is fairly interesting: sweet, fruity and attentive. Hint of smoke with washed out coffee filters, soft chocolate and a fruitiness that seems like a mix of a red berry and a citrus. The taste is pretty decent but I’m instantly not a fan of the strong bitterness that this could do without. Then again... maybe it’s growing on me already. Smooth with instant espresso, chocolate and a slight mouth burn. Slight sweetness tied into a weak fruit taste. Tons of roast here. Smooth mouth feel, closing in on full bodied, man... sooooo smooth when warm - this beer is awesome. Lingering dryness.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a medium light brown foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry coffee notes with some traces of black chocolate. Taste is a nice balance mix between some espresso bitter coffee notes with some dry black chocolate. A bit too dry for my taste but still very good with good carbonation and no alcohol showing. More creamy black chocolate notes and less carbonation would have elevated this one to the next level.
