I got a brew you can’t refuse. The Dogfather is one of the biggest brew we have ever made, weighing in a 10.85% alcohol. 7 malts and 4 hops give it a complex flavor profile. Over 11 month in the making some of the DogFather has been barrel aged. This is a very limited release with only 40 keg equivalents in draft and only 300 case made.

Louis, I'm feeling ya on this one. Not sure if there are quality control issues or what but this was a 99th percentile beer before we had it? Way rough around the edges, all kinds of overdone flavor and aroma components and a good dose of unpleasantness. Didn't finis the bomber...

Almost thick black pour with a very tight thin tan head that reduces to a sustained ring leaving bits of lacing. Slightly sourish aroma with burnt molasses, bittersweet chocolate, stale coffee. Taste imparts the same slight sourness with a chalky mouthfeel. Overburnt molasses, too bitter with the cocoa, old coffee. Underperformer. Not very good.

Very, very dark brownish/black color. Very dense, creamy, frothy, dark, tan head. Tremendous size, retention and lacing. Just a smidge of ruby at the very bottom when held next to the light. The aroma revealed some very dark fruit scents reminiscent of plums, raisins and prunes. A slight "fruit cake" aroma. Some mild coffee and chocolate notes. Alcohol notes are present, but seem to be held back a bit. The dark malts provide a more earthy tone. The taste brought out a bit more of the coffee and chocolate, but the dark fruit is hanging in there in a more subdued way. The alcohol is definitely more prominent in the taste. A bit of chalkiness also. Medium/full mouthfeel. Dry. Has a noticeable alcohol burn at the back end that lingers on the palate for some time. A rather smooth finish considering the high ABV. I have yet to have a beer this high in ABV. Obviously, this is a sipper, however it went perfect with this frigidly cold evening. The alcohol burn took a few sips to get used to, but as I continued I thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely worth a try if you favor Stouts. A tremendous looking beer with a strongly suported smell, taste and mouthfeel.

The problahm is that I spent seven yeahs trying to get rid of this gawd-awful Bahston accent, and forty-five minutes with Max, I'm back at the Shell Shack serving chowdah to those jehks from Hahvahd!

Sampled from bottle. Pours opaque black/brown with a thick, creamy dark tan head. Dark, pitted fruit, chocolate and coffee aroma. Nicely bitter with a bold roasted malt flavor. A bit of breadiness and more dark fruit. Bitterness lingers. Full-bodied and smooth. Very well done.

Aroma is rich and oily with an undertone of quality roast coffee and hints of molasses and miso. It pours a deep, opaque sable just a notch above black with a thick, fluffy, fine-bubbled, persistent light tan head that leaves some decent lacing. Rich, thick flavor has tones of unsweet chocolate, toffee, fine coffee, wood and molasses. Despite the high alcohol content, the alcohol bite is subtle and stays in the background. Texture is thick, smooth, fizzy and sassy, leaving a nice tingle and a bit of an alcohol nip. Highly recommended! If this is indeed a limited release, grab a bottle whilst you can. Hell, grab two bottles - one to drink and one to trade.

Dec. 2009 - An above average imperial stout...rich and chocolately with a hint of ash with an alcohol burn which was pleasing. Nice job, Laughing Dog.

A dark blackness with a big foamy textured, brown head rising above. Good hang time on this one. Settles into impressive lacing of film on the sides and thick ringlet with gentle cloud atop the body. Bold coffee and roasted malt in the nose. Dry, not sweet roasted coffee, malt and chocolate in the tasting. Medium full bodied. Creamy. Not bad, just not an Imperial.

Rich brown body with an amber tint, medium brown head and clinging lacing. Roasted malt and nuts with chocolate and coffee aromas are warm and inviting. Easily enjoyed and drinkable, very balanced for an Imperial Stout. Hearty roast malt profile some fig and vanilla. Almost seemed like a very robust porter at times.

Pours motor oil black with a LIVELY tan head (pour slowly, please). Frothy. Aroma is earthy. Mouthfeel is toasted. Flavor has apparent bourbon hints, as well as vanilla and chocolate coffee. Very full and round, I like it - I like it alot!
