Sneaky Pete is a blend of five hop types: Simcoe, Glacier, Centennial, Vanguard and Hallertauer, with Simcoe playing the dominate role at 30%. In addition, three separate malts were used: Honey Malt, Rye Malt, and Munich Malt. The brew has a copious aroma of white grapefruit, citrus overtones, a complex rich middle and long flavors in the finish; a real beauty. Finished with wild clover honey. 89 IBU’s, 10% ABV.

Somewhat opaque brown orange with off-white foam head. Aroma is hoppy with some citrus notes. Taste is quite bitter, in fact the bitterness dominates. Aftertaste has some floral honey notes. (Houston 201310)

Nice. Pours Golden Orange with loads of lacing as you go. Aroma is stinky sweet. Not sure the driver there, but it's not great. Tons of hoppy floral fruity tones in the flavor make up for it in spades.

Perfect if not near perfect. Unlike other IIPA's this one doesn't have that brandy snap of alcohol as the major flavor. This has layers of of fizzy gritty hops as the major flavor, enough to slow you down but not too many to make you go blah. I savored this one for over an hour. It is a little sweet, but not too overpowering, Light head, light lacing, dry and crisp and obviously dry hopped.

4-pack I picked up and sipped on during my Easter weekend stay back in my home town. Quite a surprise find, but the beer itself (while very solid) does not live up to the price tag nor my expectations. A very dark amber-copper pour with a thin white head and very ample lacing. Lots of honey, biscuits and caramel to coincide with some fruity hop overtones. Bottle was dated within a month of purchase, and while the hops are very evident, they didn't stack up to how a IIPA should be. Very proper name for this beer as it's smooth and easily consumed all at a whooping 10%.....a couple bottles for a night cap worked wonders.

damn Lou...another winner! Wonderful bittersweet flavor with a slightly sticky body. Aroma was nice as well, though not as awesome as the flavor. tropical fruit(pineapple, peach), slight honey on the back end, bitter lingering finish. This beer would maybe be too bitter w/o the sweet, and vice-versa, but as it is - VERY nice! And at 10%, it kicked my butt quite nicely.

I appear to be in the minority in not thinking that highly of this beer. Pours a cloudy amber with a creamy tan head. No freshness date found. I did not notice a lot of hops in the aroma but definitely picked up on the alcohol. Flavor was more sticky sweet than bitter; almost more along the lines of a barleywine (again, freshness was probably a factor). Would like to try a fresh bottle if given the chance.

And yet ANOTHER great beer from Lou. Holy shit man, you spoil me. Pours a bright-ass well carnonated orange. Stinky bud aroma, followed by some sweet honey nectar. Taste is pretty similar. But the sweetness goes so well with the bitter hops. Not overly astringent. Dank as hell. Thanks Louis.

Bottle. This initially looked like a ruddy copper, but it appears almost as a pretty ruby copper body when held to light. A dense light khaki head sits on top leaving lots of legs on the glass. The nose is deep grapefruit and wood. There is also some hazelnut to complement a light donut character. The taste has lots of caramel and hints of wood. There is not really any citrus, it comes across more like pineapple or passion fruit. The finish is sticky sweet with some notes of milk chocolate. This is a solid, malt forward double IIPA. Another good one from Laughing Dog.

Wow, that's a kick in the ass! Thanks, Lou... pours a deep hazy amber with a grapefruit aroma that knocks your socks off - the next thing would be grapefruit juice itself. Piney and citrusy flavors and a bold texture - bold everything, yet well-balanced to the point that nothing overwhelms. Damn, that was good.

bought on my KC trip .. . Pours a very dark amber, really good cream head, lacing is pretty good too .. . quite a large beer- light pine, sap, resin, and a touch of heat .. . the label enrages me a bit, not really, scratch that .. . Pretty good brew, maybe just a bit one dimensional but has a nice backbone- smooth, i wish i had a sixer and not just single ... Nobody told us how difficult it was to raise kids. They almost drove me to fortified wine.
