No wonder there's a hop shortage. Brewed special for the OBF, Rocket Dog launches four types of hops at five different intervals into this brew. Roasted barley and rye, pale and Munich malts give this beer a red tint. Fermented a little on the dry side, this thirst-quencher is a hop lover's dream. IBU's: 67

This beer would have some serious potential fresh. Not sure of the age on my bottle, but you could tell it had sat for at least a little while. Pine peeeent but more muted than expected. Spicy and malty sweet, chewy body. Bittersweet spicy finish.

They must have changed the recipe since this was enterd, cause there isnt any red here.A cloudy pale gold color with a light oatmeal colored head and very nice lacing. The aroma shows a citrus, slightly floral/ fruity presence. I get a rye note but it's very faint, as it warms the sweet caramel malts come through a bit more. The flavor is sharp citrus hops and a sweet yeastiness with heavy grass/leaf bite, not much in the way of rye though. It's a medium bodied brew with fair carbonation and it brings a mouth feel that is almost watery in a silky way. It is very easy drinking, and the alcohol is hidden fairly well.Definitely a good brew thats worth a try and one I would certainly drink again.

Strong aroma is very hoppy, somewhat evergreen, and has a sweet fruity undertone. It pours a slightly hazy solar yellow with a thick, if not persistent, white head that leaves some decent lacing. Strongly hoppy flavor is scarcely bitter and has woody, pear and banana notes as well as a hint of butterscotch. Smooth texture has slightly above-average body and a fair amount of fizziness. Gotta love the label! Decent overall, it not earth-shaking.

A bright golden-orange colored beer with a big frothy textured, white head rising above. There's some hang time. It settles into a thin soapy ringlet. A light citrus-piney nose. A little grassy, a little citrus, a little malty all come together nicely in this one. A medium bodied beer. A little slick on the tongue. Overall pretty good.

Tasted on tap 10/24/2008. This IPA pours a medium orange color. Smll to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is spicy, floral hops, and caramel. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are floral and spicy; the rye flavors sort of assert themselves here. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
