A Biere De Garde—literally, "a beer to keep"—is a style conceived in the hills of Northern France. This traditional farmhouse ale is brewed with a special French ale yeast, giving it a subtle, yet delightful ester fruitiness. Ample amounts of 2-row malt give Rendezvous a luscious, full body. Generous amounts of Munich malts are added for additional sweetness and give Rendezvous an impassioned red hue. Saaz and Mt. Hood hops are added for a mild bitterness and clean finish. Robust, smooth, and surprisingly refreshing, the effect on your palate is an intense, fleeting episode: a rendezvous.

Bomber from BCLDB Nordel Crossing. Clear copper pour with a smallish white head; I was expecting more of a gold body. Pleasant surprise. Malty/yeasty aroma. Buttery smouthfeel, almost thick. Flavour had fruits, spices, yeast, and some malt. Sweet finish. Seriously enjoyable.

From PfoxyJohn. Ruby amber pour with a light head and lacing. Aromas of fruits, esp. oranges and peaches, light floral hops, sweet caramel malts. Flavor is of orange zest, peaches, slight pepper, very slight funk, floral, grassy and earthy hops. Very very refreshing; thank you John for another outstanding Wisconsin brew.

Not impressed by the appearance, very cloudy . The color makes it just better than average beer, head is white and disappears quickly. aroma is weak hops and slightly cidery. Mouthfeel is satisfying and gives it a nice body. Flavor is quite malty with some cider. A decent brew but 22 oz might be too much for one sitting.

It pours a hazy and thick apricot color with a 1/2-inch thick white/light-orange head and a rim of lacing. An aroma of caramel malts, light hops, orange and citrus fruits, peach and apricots, light mangoes, bread and yeast, and light spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of caramel malts, hops, bread and yeast, tangerines, peaches, light mangos, and some spiciness. Yummmmm ... fruity but not too much.

Pours a clear coppery amber with a fairly thick cream-white head that bubbles up quickly but doesn't stick around too long. Aroma is crisp, fruity - mainly apple - and malty, and rather sweet. Flavor is fruity and malty, somewhat sour, a little woody and hoppy, a little sweet. Texture is fizzy, a little syrupy, definitely beer-like. This beer is truly for sipping.

My first Lakefront beer. I've heard a lot about them from my Chicago friends. This was a bit of a disappointment however. A reddish-gold pour, cloudy, with a thin head. Lots of earthy, musty tones in this one. Old yeast and sweet malt was the dominant aroma. The flavour consisted of caramel malt, grass, earth, and a hop finish.
