ight up the night with Northern Glow. This sparkling IPA has a distinct effervescent character and a dry finish. With hints of dried orange and grapefruit peel, get ready to experience a celebration of flavours. Northern Glow is a medley of fruity and earthy flavours. Champagne yeast removes sugar after fermentation allowing a dry taste to prevail through notes of pine and citrus. Bubbly and aromatic, this Brut IPA shines brighter than most. Malts: 2-Row Pale, Pilsen, Wheat Hops: Idaho 7, El Dorado, Belma

The beer pours a slightly hazed pale straw colour with a huge bubbly off-white head which quickly fades. The aroma is cereal malts, weak herbal hops, some yeasty notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is “woody”. I can still taste the cereal malts, but the hops have become bitter and earthy. In fact, I’m not liking the flavour of this at all. -

Tall can from LCBO. Pours a big foamy off-white head and has a clear golden coloured appearance. Big soapy lace. Lively carbonation. Aromas of grassy and herbal hops, some very light citrus notes, a bit yeasty as well. Flavours are citrus, some lemony hints, grassy and piney as well. Fizzy and drying mouthfeel.

First Brut IPA of the night (other being Muskoka Rosé Cheeks). Pours a pretty clean, golden colour with a big fluffy off-white cap, good stay and lots of foamy lacing patches. The nose has a nice mix of hoppy fresh grassy notes and Champagne white grapes dryness. The mouth shows this dryness but in a different way. Not so much in the finish. A very interesting mouthfeel. Flavours of grassiness, hoppiness with the citrus zest. Seems like a bitterness that just grow stronger and stronger, way after the finish. Interesting.
