Poured up on tap at the Lagerhaus. It pours hazy dark amber with gold hues and impressive looking light tan head leaving sheet lacing behind. The aroma is mild with notes of light dark fruitiness, some tartness and a sense of roast. The taste is pleasingly complex starting sweet and fruity with notes of ripe red apples, pears and a dash of sweet dark grapes. It then picks up a modest level of sugar candy like tartness (?) and some sour citrus followed by a touch of roasty malts. Very interesting combination. I think it could come together better with a bit of age. It stays sweet fruity and mildly candy tart with some dryness into the finish.
