Belgian brewers in the past have experimented with plum Lambic, but for the first time ever a Hefeweizen was created with low acidic Italian plums added during fermentation. The “FISCHER PLUMWEIZEN”, 5% ABV, with fresh pureed Italian plums which are complementing the Hefeweizen, without overpowering it.

Pours murky brackish pond water with white head. I love the deep muddy gold opacity here. Cool looking brew. The aroma is fruity with ripe plum meat, a modest level of banana, faint fruity esters and some spicy yeastiness. The taste is sweet with fresh plum fruit, where one almost expects a bit of plum juice running down your chin, mildly tart plum skin tannins, some spicy yeast, then a touch tart and also a touch chalky yeast. Below the plum and yeast is a murmur or two of banana like esters. Well done brew.
