Une nouvelle Waterford en sol américain, une continuation plutôt qu’une reproduction. L’ancestrale ville irlandaise devint ici la pionnière du Limoilou actuel, empreint de nouvelles gustations. Voilà ce qui décrit bien notre Stout: autant de soif que l’original, mais davantage caractéristique de nos papilles appréciant les notes chocolatées et torréfiées.

Pours a dark brown colour with ruby-copper highlights, a nice creamy-bubbly, warm-beige head, good retention and thick, foamy-creamy lacing left. Roasted malt aromas with some light dark fruitiness and hints of grassiness, wheat giving banana notes. Slick, mildly oily mouthfeel with some nice, slow-building dryness in the end. Malted barley taste with a mild blend of molasses, coffee and dark fruits. A tad wheat here as well, but gets cut off by the hops. An easy-drinking Irish Stout, just like the Bench Mountainview Stout I just had... with a better head.
