Not quite up to par with Southern Tier's masterpiece, but this is still a nice brew. Sweet gritty sugars with fresh roasted coffee along with a medium bodied chocolate/roasted malt base. Dark body with a creamy head, very smooth although a bit lighter bodied than anticipated.

12oz bottle. Dark black color. Small sized tan colored head. Aroma is chocolate fudge, vanilla, coffee, cinnamon, cookies etc. This is one of the best smelling beers I have ever experienced. Sean and I both said (Best aroma ever about the same time..)Then I had to spoil the effect by drinking it. Sour, lactic and thin. Is the wonderful overall sweetness of the aroma part of the sour lactic taste? I mean how can a beer smell so good and taste like something that could gag a maggot? This is the first beer to get a 10 on aroma and a 1 in flavor. I am sooooo confused. Mouthfeel is thin and watery. Finish is crisp and harsh. Aftertaste is sour and then even more sour. Overall I liked this beer and definitely want to try it fresh. BUT pour it in a big shifter swirl it around and sniff it all night. Under no circumstances drink it!
