Aroma is yeasty and a little fruity, not strong but still inviting. It pours a nice clear amber with a fairly thick and somewhat persistent pale golden head that leaves a little lacing. Flavor is definitely better than the aroma - not quite full-bodied, but enjoyable, malty, fruity (apple plus a little pear) and yeasty, just a tad sweet and just a tad hoppy. Smooth texture has plenty of fizz and firm body. No crisis here - just a good sippin' brew.

An orange colored beer with a big frothy textured white head. There's some hang time. It settles eventually into a thin ringlet. The nose is fruit and yeasty. The tasting a nice blending of spice, fruit, and sweet maltness. Light bodied and well carbonated smoothness.

i guess i associate rye with hoppy brews subconciously, so this 27 ibu saison was a bit of a surprise. amber in color, fruity aroma with a hint of spice and funk. pleasant tart aftertaste. light for 8%. a nice beer i'd get a pint of on tap, but for $6+, probably won't go out of my way for another bottle.
