Lake Ontario water levels rose in 2017, breaking the previous high water level by more than 15 centimeters – enough to wash away much of big sandy beach on wolfe island, flood many basements and properties in Kingston and surrounding area and picking up all kinds of shoreline debris turning the water a darker-than-usual hue. Named after the “dark rising” of Lake Ontario this year, our Dunkel (dark)-Risen (aka Dunkelweizen) is a dark, German-style wheat beer with a deliciously complex malt flavour with a low, but balancing bitterness with light clove and banana flavours.
