    a surprisingly excellent holiday ale. not that KS isn't decent, but i had my odubts about a quad. on one hand, those doubts are legit. this in no way is like the traditional belgian "quads"...rochefort, bernardus...the color falls somewhere between the golden Stoic and darker belgians, and the aroma and flavor are more cinnamon and vanilla than belgian yeastiness, though some dark fruit is present too. the only beer i;ve had like this one is 21st Ammendment Monks Blood (which is pretty dang good) so i have to give this it's due. not what i expected, but VERY tasty, and hides the abv about as well as any beer i've ever had.
