La double IPA Vermontoise n'est pas tant un style classique de la culture brassicole Américaine qu'un moment charnière dans son histoire récente. Sorte de proto-NEIPA, elle incarne la transition, dans les IPAs, entre l'amertume résineuse et agrumée qui a fait la réputation des IPAs de la côte ouest dans les années 1990 et 2000 et la rondeur fruitée et ''juicy'' qui contribuera, quelques années plus tard, à la fulgurante ascension des IPAs du nord-est.

Hazy golden colour with a frothy-bubbly white head, good stay and some foamy-creamy lacing patches. Grassy aromas with some citrus notes. The mouthfeel is juicy with a mild dry finish. Some bitterness in the taste with citrus, lemon zest. Maybe lacking oat for the style. A decent warming, with well-hidden alcohol, but a tad on the West Coast side.
