This is one of the several beers I sampled when visiting the J.T. Whitneys in Middleton, WI on my "Boozin Across Wisconsin Tour 2008". It came as part of an 8 piece sampler set that I purchased.
The beer had a nice amber color to it with very light hints of red. There was a fairly decent white head on it that holds on for a few minutes. I was slightly disappointed with the aroma. I really couldn't pick up anything on the nose other than a a light wheatiness. Not much else was flowing from the glass.
The beer sample was pretty decent in the mouth. There was a light carbonation that left a moderate tingle on your tongue. It drinks well though. The flavor is full of malt, but there's a nice dry back end to it. Kinda strange because you don't taste much in the way of hops.
Overall this isn't too bad, the only problem is that I'm not a huge Alt fan. That's just my personal preference though. I'd give it a try as I think it is a fairly decently crafted brew. -

Pours a light copper color with a moderate billowy off-white head with good retention. The body is very clear and well-carbonated. The nose is mildly malty with some fresh grain; virtually no hop aroma. Mouthfeel is clean and smooth with mild tart fruit surrounding the solid malt flavors. Seems fresh and alive, a delight to drink. Wouldn't be out of place in a Bavarian bier hall.
