pours a medium golden hue with a touch of haze to the body and a robust effervescence and the head is medium sized frothy ivory foam. The aroma is sweet malt with a little bit of funk and a hint of tartness. There's also an interesting lemongrass type character in the mix. The taste has a lightly sweet malt with a nice, Brettanomyces-like funk and and just a mild hint of tartness. The lemony character persists from the aroma, and the overall effect is quite enticing. The mouthfeel is medium body with a good level of carbonation and a very robust, mouth filling creaminess.

a nice blend of hops and funk, with a slight coriander spiciness in the nose and the back end of the flavor. prickly on the palate. still has the house JP character, but it works well here.

Had this on tap at the Malt House last week. Hard to tell, but looked like an orange amber. slightly cloudy. Aroma has lots going on. Slightly sour smelling. Very bubbly. Taste is pretty good, again citrus, lemons, spice and a little bit of pepper.

Re-rate 8/29/09. No gusher this time. Pours a golden-amber color with a thick khacki head. The aroma is coriander, bretty, spices, funk. Spices and coriander flavors mix with light hops. Very dry and a bit sour and tart in the finish. A really good beer. Slight bump. Original rating: This started over flowing as soon as I opened it up, out of control, took some effort to settle it down. Amber colored, a lot of carbonation, huge foamy head that eventually settled to a nice level. Fruity and yeasty, light with some spice, light bitterness and a tangy sour presence. Good one, I enjoyed this beer. These JP brews are a bit expensive though.

Yet another product from Jolly Pumpkin I have here...Aroma is very spicy with immediant notes of coriander and some citrus as well as some acidity with the typical Belgian yeast coming through with some mustiness and orange juice. Appearance is a very hazy bronze to firey-orange with a full head on top (Note: the head is so thick it is almost doughey when touched between my fingers and is heavy) that is highly carbonated and bleach-white in color and expands while sitting and remains leaving frothy lacing on the glass. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with complexity as well as spicy balance with a palate that is clean and crisp and a bit dry. Flavor is bitter hops, citrus, coriander, and other spices with an aftertaste that is dry-like and musty with some Belgian funk with a finish that is delicate and very complex and full of flavors and is peppery to some extent. Overall, one thing I can say about Jolly Pumpkin brews is that they are so very complex yet soft and delicate and every sip brings new flavor profiles and that Jolly Pumpkin has a hallmark yeasty taste that comes through with every brew.

Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is lots of gruits, gluelike alcohol and some cookies + caramel. Flavour is very sweet nectarish fruity along with some slight alcoholic hints. A lot of vinegar, spices and wooden notes also.

750ml bottle. Pours a hazy, muddy amber with a monster fluffy white head that sticks around and laces the glass.
The aroma is musty yeast, some grains, wood and spices and a little fruit in the background.
The flavor is some slightly tart and acidic fruits and a hint of spices leading to a noticeable, lightly bitter hop finish. It has a very dry lingering aftertaste that I can't quite identify. The mouthfeel is medium with tons of bubbly carbonation.
Overall, a very nice beer. It's not as sour as JP's other brews. It's easy drinking, but the aftertaste doesn't quite jive with me. -

Light amber to orange color, small head, very little lacing. Funky lambic horseblanket like aroma. Flavor was a vast amalgamation of styles, horseblanket, sour vinegar, grapefruit hops, sweet fruit and a touch of caramel. Dry mouthfeel, light on the tongue. Definitely something different.

A cloudy yellow appearance with a large white head. An herbal, lemon, and banana filled aroma. This one was very carbonated and sour with some vinegar and lemon notes. A spicy and sour finish. Nice one.
