Poured a nice golden brown with smallish head. Aroma was that of flowery hops. If whoever entered this beer was right and that it was supposed to be an English Pale, then it is off the mark. Smell and taste was flowery hops...too much and seemingly the wrong kind of hops for an English style. I was hoping more malt backbone would come out as it warmed (as does with good English PA's), but to no avail. Very unremarkable.

Had this at the brewpub in Springfield, PA. This was pretty good, better than I had expected from a brewpub chain. Served with almost no head on top of a bright golden body. Aroma is grapefruity citrus scents, with a bit of a grainy sweetness as well. Flavor is caramel sweetness, and a fair amount of cascade-like hop flavors. Grapefruit, a bit of orange peel, and an appropriate amount of bitterness to accompany it. Body is a little on the thin side, almost watery. Tastythough, and very nice.

Originally had on 10/6/02, and rerated 12/29/04 from a sampler at the Springfield, PA brewpub. Little lacing. Dark amber color. Bready flavor and aroma with some hops and hints of fruit. Fairly average, but a nice body on this beer made it enjoyable to drink.
