"IPA" stands for India Pale Ale, so you know that comes with a story.... During the lengthy British colonization of India, beer was made readily available to the British soldiers in need of creature comforts of home. However, the long sea journey and climate changes took their toll on the beers. English brewers quickly discovered that by adding more hops the beer would keep longer under the pressing circumstances, thus giving birth to the tasty IPA-style of beer. And like traditional IPAs, the RockHopper is quite "hoppy". The hops deliver the flowery aroma and intense bitter flavour that lasts on the palate. It will defiantly show up on your tongue and shouldn't be judged on a first impression: IPAs are an acquired taste and should be built up to. This hoppy brew goes out to everyone who plays on the rocks.

So good.......... I just spent four hours outside in the hot sun working, so now I go to the brew pub for a pint. Hazy tan with a sticky crown, very roapy lacing. Lemon citrus explosion in my face, leathery, moderate bitterness. Aroma is mild but yum, taste is crisp and clean and smooth. So much lemon bordering a tangerine....... I LOVE HOPS!!!!!! Hops are hoppy good. Marks are probably inflated because of my overheated bloated partched corps dying for liquid but fuck you this is good. I wounder if i can expence the growler I just ordered????

Aroma is very good. Smells like a hop, willamette to be specific, as fresh as if they we're in my hand. Slight sweet aftificial grapefruit aroma as well. Good head retention above slightly darker/oranger than yellow beer. Hop flavour is resionious bitterish medium to thin bodied. Smell is great, taste and body really weak. Much superior to affliated Banff Brewings counterpart though.

A decent IPA, but not a great IPA. A hazy gold beer with a hoppy aroma and hints of sweet malt and citrus. The flavour is chewy malt, citrus, and hops. Nothing outstanding, but not bad either.

Snuck off and drunk at the bar again. Got my very cold beer quickly and it was a very hazy orange amber colour with a thin white cap that stayed thin until my glass was empty giving out some spotty lacing along the way. I was greeted with a nice refreshing aroma of sweet candylike peaches, apricots and grapefruit, a strong floral impression (easily the best quality of the aroma) but there seems to be a soapy undertone. The taste is off. Lots of bitterness and more hop flavour than bitterness with some herb but then the strange soapy taste comes in and ruins everything. There is some fruit here but, once again the soap kills it. Comes across quite smooth and refreshing as do all the Jasper beers, nice carbonation and a good malt middle. It's not too harsh on the bitterness but it does have good lingering length. Seems like a very acidic pop I guess. It's ok but I'll stick with the Liftline Cream Ale.
