JW Dundee's American Amber Lager has a complex malt character that is balanced by a distinct American Hop aroma and flavor. We use five different malts. We start with our two row pale malt as our base and then add four different types of crystal malts. It is the combination of the four crystal malts that define the complexity of the beer. Although the malt is showcased, the hops play an important part in the balance of flavors. We use simcoe, cascade, and magnum hops.

definite graininess in the aroma, flavor and feel o this one. some nice caramel and crystal(?) malts, little in the way of hopping. another one that wasn't bad, but ends up being a little lifeless.

Poured a clear, copper-amber color with a bubbly head of froth which fizzled to a thin, beige lace. The aroms was of generic toasted grain and malt with a sweet aroma rising from it. The taste is a little thin, but balanced. There's a rush of sweet caramel malts up front, followed by a synthetic hop bitterness that serves as a balance to the sweetness of the malts. The mouthfeel is light-medium bodied, and pretty crisp.

It pours amber with dimpled light-tan head and excellent lace. Aroma of caramel malts, light hops, citrus, and mild spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and full-bodied. Flavors of caramel malts, light hops, oranges, and mild spices.

One of the better offerings by JW Dundee but still not spectacular. Pours an amber color with some white head. Malty aroma and malty, sweet taste. Not bad but I wish there was more flavor.

This actually pretty good moderately priced, readily available beer. I don't always reach for it, but when I'm in the mood for something just a little different and not willing to plunk down a huge wad of cash, this is a good alternative.

Sampled from bottle, pours a clear copper colour with a fairly large white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, tofee and raisins. Taste is relatively clean, crisp with a soft hop finish.

Presentation: Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: It has a deep amber color with excellent clarity. The head is full and fluffy with a creamy off white color. It hangs on for a short time and recedes to a thin covering. On the way down the glass it leaves behind some nice lacing. Smell: The aroma is light and clean. There is a light malt presence with soft aromatic hops in the nose. Taste/Mouth feel: Nothing out of this world but it is fresh, crisp and clean. There is a pleasant sweet malt base with a mild hop presence within a medium body that has a refreshing texture and clean finish. Notes: Simple and good but great. It comes with a modest price tag that will bring me back for more.

Very clear reddish amber brew with nearly two fingers of head almost white in color. Aroma was of toasted, biscuity malts with some hop aroma and a mild apple smell. Tastes honey wheat bread and toffee malted sweetness.

A good overall lager. The appearance was nice, and the flavor was surprisingly full bodied and crisp. Surprising, yes, but not that great. There was much lacking in lasting taste, but this was a quality beer for the price.

nice amber color and medium bodied. nice light head and good lacing. aroma soft of malts and taste was average for a lager, but had a nice touch of hops at the end. aftertaste was a little bad, but this is a brew you could def drink a lot of!
