This double IPA has twice the hops and grains as its counterpart. Significant floral, citrus, and peppery notes on the nose, yet even with the enormous hop profile, the huge grain bill results in a very well balanced brew. Hops: Amarillo, Summit, Simcoe, Cascade Abv: 8.0% O.G..: 1.079 Grain Bill: All pale malts, Marris Otter, Wheat, Victory, CaraPils Food Pairings: Nachos, BBQ Pork, Garlic Fries, Spicy or Smoked Foods

From Bev Mo (Van Ness) in a bomber. Pourted a cloudy copper body under a modest white head. Aroma wsa hoopy and alos pine needles. Flavour had a large hop component plus the aforementioned pine needles; none of the advertised citrus notes were there. Good mouthfeel and finish.

I don’t usually use the terms "unbalanced" or "over-hopped," and those terms are not necessarily criticisms, but this beer is nearly a hop tea. I like hops and I certainly like this beer, but I’m not sure that I will be able to taste anything for a week. The beer pours a solid, darkened amber, and the head leaves good lacing. The aroma is very strong and excellent. The beer smells like a handful of crushed hops. There are floral, citric and pine notes. While adding this much hops made for a great aroma, they just overwhelm the taste. I like hops and like the flavor, but you can’t quite taste everything without more malt. The beer is quite bitter, so the feel suffers somewhat but the oiliness of the hops is still enjoyable. Drinkability is good, but switching to anything but a DIPA would be impossible after a glass of this beer.

this darker than average murky brew coats the glass and hangs around a bit. smooth, almost nitro-like. malty and quite bitter as well, with a unique hop profile compared to most IIPAs. well done.

Tasted on tap at the Drakes 1st Annual Beer Festival and Washoes Tournament. This Imperial IPA pours a orange gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is floral hops, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied Imperial India Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are grapefruity and citrusy. Nice balance. Medium to high bitterness is balanced by some nice malt fruity sweetness. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
