This unusual fruit flavored beer was inspried by the Belgian Lambics sampled by Wolf and Robin during their travels through Europe. A crisp lager, this beer is brewed with Spalt hops, pale two-row malt and flaked rice for a light body and hints of Chardonnay flavors. 100% pure fruit extract and Tettnang hops combine for the sweet, but not overpowering, honey-pear taste. Very popular - even among those who don't usually like beer! It pairs well with dishes made with fruit, such as glazed meats and poultry, as well as with light desserts like Angel Food Cake. A very fruity beer, lots of pear in the nose and flavor. It seems like they used a saison yeast but there was no brewer on hand to confirm that. It was interesting although had a very bad aftertaste and was overall just way too light for me.
