Testing a few ciders tonight. This one is the first one and pours a rich golden colour, with lots of carbonation of tiny bubbles, a decent white head (but this one has retention closer to a beer, than cider) and actually leaves a nice coat right over the brew and a beautiful ring around it. Good aroma of fresh apple juice with a thick mouthfeel, that falls thin quite fast and leaves no stickiness, like syrup. Quite sweet at first, then the apple taste goes through, to end with a crisp finish and just a little grain in the aftertaste. Kind of on the corn side of grain. Seems to change into a vegetable aftertaste too (which I would say is the only offensive side of this cider). Overall, interesting (especially the "serve over ice" recommendation). Not for fans of dry ciders.

568ml?
Poured out a big fizzy white head that actually stuck around quite awhile just above a skim level, bright orange gold. The aroma sometimes seems dead on but often seemed too far down the road of apple juice - closer to a freshly opened tube of frozen apple juice to go along with some chemicals. Needs to be more dry in the taste. Oversweet apple juice. A bit too thick and syrupy but not over the top bad... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING. -

568 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. In addition to apple juice, ingredients include "glucose syrup, water, sugar, carbon dioxide, acid: E296, antioxidant: E224 (sulphites), colour: E120". Recommended to "serve over ice". In other words: this is an industrial cider. Pours fizzy with a large white head that actually stays around a while (probably designed to make people think you are drinking lager). Strange aroma of rotting and fermenting apples + some undefined and unpleasant chemical stuff. The flavour is fairly sweet and synthetic with very little to write home about. Pretty bad.
