Description An assertive ale that is heavily bittered and dry-hopped providing an intensive aroma and brewed using selected English and North American barley and hops. It is named for the dramatic grade 4 Devil's Elbow rapid on the Elaho River, north of Squamish, BC, Canada. Awards Canadian Bronze 2012 - English Style India Pale Ale. North American Silver 2010 -English Style India Pale Ale. Food Pairing This is the hoppiest of all our beers. While hops can decimate your taste buds when paired with many foods, they do make a good match with numerous foods such as fried seafood and highly spiced cuisine. The floral notes of this ale also make it a nice accompaniment with lamb, beef and game. Our Bottle This re-closable bottle, known as a “pot-stopper”, was widely used in Europe and North America prior to the 1950s. Our new combination cap is an innovative design that allows closure by both crown and swing caps. It can be re-used and meets our green packaging objectives.

Good looking (hazy) copper colour beer has a large head that lasts and laces well.Floral and pine aroma. Medium mouthfeel. Flavour is malt forward, floral, pine and orange peel. Sweeter than it is bitter but still a solid ipa. The jury is out on the big bottle.

Pretty much a slightly better than average IPA. Its very fragrant, but light and fluffy, nectarine, pine, lemon, orange, typical hop flavours, but more delicate than ussual. Not terribly bitter and a bit thin, which at time of tasting I am really digging, but do not always get thrilled about.

Once again, Howe Sound delivers the goods in a lovely one-litre swing top bottle. Beginning with a rocky white head of three fingers depth, the body was a rather cloudy amber/orange. The head fell away into some nice lacing, and the aroma was properly hopped, along with some obvious pine notes. Lovely! The taste was the story of a proper IPA with good hopping and malts working together. Good mouthfeel with this one along with a nice finish. Howe Sound is perhaps now my favourite Western Canadian brewery.
