Like many of the offerings from Hops and Grains, this is a good beer, but not a great beer. The beer is darker than average for an altbier, although still clear. With the darker color comes a more roasted aroma with an abundance of grains. Again, the darkness makes for a more bitter altbier than most would be used to. Adventurous, but not great.

Aromas of slightly burnt sugar and grain. Flavor is much the same with some bread and nut hints, the finish has a nice bitterness to it. Not really traditional, but a nice brew anyway.
