Poured vom Fass in the brewery tap room by the brewer Johannes himself a cloudy deep amber to brown beer with a small white foamy head that had a short retention. No lacing. No carbonation. The aroma is grainy malts and strong floral hops. The flavour is slight sweety malts and a notable hoppy bitterness, notes of licorice. The palate is a superb bittersweet balance. The finish of this medium bodied beer is long bitter. A very drinkable and ... certainly one of the best kepts secrets in the Bamberger area.
