The use of Munich, Melanodin, and Chocolate malts add a perfect balance of sweetness to the light Hallartau hop bitterness. The combination creates a deep amber color with the subtle flavors of bourbon and chocolate.

Dark maroon colored body with a brown tint. Thin head and splotchy lacing. Firm, malt driven and filling brew. A beautiful blend of woody whiskey that is pure mellow gold with a very traditional dark fruity doppel bock base. Fruity berries, toffee and that splash of bourbon are all complimenting to one another. Very enjoyable, huge thanks to heybeerman for this inspiring beer.

A really nice bourbon, vanilla, sweet cream nose. The mouthfeel is a touch off but still better than average. The bocky sweetness pares very well with the bourbon and oak. Best drank at warmer temps, it was a bit harsh while cold.

Bottle from PfoxyJohn, Deep clear amber pour, short off white head, some lacing. Subtle bourbon aroma and initial flavor, caramels, malts, light brown sugar, vanilla, very light Noble hops; a true pleasure to drink. Very nice, overall subtlety creates a beer worth savoring. Thank you John - another Wisconsin winner.

Very nice dessert beer had out of a brandy snifter. Buy a bottle of this instead of wine to impress your sweetheart. Not too strong, the vanilla and bourbon really come through. Not as chocolatey or complex as the Goose Island Bourbon Barrel and so this is the better one for an introduction or for your special someone who likes to sip cognac. Careful with the "wax cap"
