Beer of the Gods is an unusual blend of styles from Old Germany. We’ve taken the pale Pilsner malt used for Cologne’s famed Kölsch style and loads of spicy noble hops used in the best Altbier from nearby Dusseldorf. And we’ve topped it off with a liberal dose of extra aroma hops during a lengthy lagering stage. The result? An American beer that blends the best of two old world classics: a beer as drinkable as the very best Kölsch that satisfies like a supreme Altbier. Think of it as a German-style Farmhouse Ale. Beer of the Gods is, of course, unpasteurized and unfiltered. Alcohol content is 4.9%.

This was just ok. The aroma upon opening was a bit skunky but otherwise non-descript. It poured a very nice yellow color with an ample head on it-very nice looking overall. The taste was fair, faintly stale (and maybe that was just the bottle I bought....so I will give it another try down the line).

12 x 6 from local store. Nice unfiltered, cloudy, lemon yellow pour. Hops comes thru in the nose. A little bitter. OK. No head to speak of or lacing. Good taste on my palate something different.

Bottled. Hazy pale yellowish colour, small white head. Aroma is a lot of lemon along with slightly papery and wheaty hints. Flavour is very much nothing, only some mild lemon, slight spices and sour hints. Quite soapy.

Poured a lightly hazy, golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, toffee, grassy, and floral hops hops, with a toasted doughiness in the background. Taste of citrus, some lemongrass, toffee, and a dry, doughy, yeasty finish. Really reminds me of a Grisette, and in that respect, Sly Fox’s was better. Thanks Dave!
