    this beer poured from a brown bottle, a dark amber hue with a nice foamy head when pour into a tall pilsner glass with medium carbonation along with a malty aroma and a hint of a spice .

    Clear ruby color with off-white foam head, lacing to glass. Aroma is caramel and toffee. Taste is bit too sweet, tones of wheat, bit spicy. Short sweet aftertaste. (Velp 201211)

    Drank this beer in Curacao which was also labeled as Heineken Tarwebok. It had a nice dark amber pour with a thin head that disappeared quickly. It had a nice malty aroma, the beer was slightly under carbonated. It had a nice spicey taste with clean refreshing finish. I was surprised this beer available in such a hot area but was a nice change from typical tropical beers.

    wow...a Heineken CAN be drinkable. Not exactly earth shattering, but drinkable. I'm surprised. pours a pleasant brown/ruby, decent malty nose and flavor, if still a little light. as good or better than newcastle.

    Pours a dark copperish colour, thin tan head. Semi sweet aroma, of toffee, malts and cocoa. Light and silky, not a whole lot of creaminess. soft touch of caramel. Finishes very light.

    Bottled. Deep reddish amber colour with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is quite sweet malts along with some slight hoppyness. Flavour is also strong on the malts with hops just mainly balancing it up. Some mild caramelly and papery notes also as it warms up.

    Not too bad, Heiney. This is a pretty good dunkel. It sure beats other beers at a party and people know the Heineken name so you can get them to try it. Pours nice and dark with decent aroma. The taste is good but I'm sure there are many better Dunkels out there.

    Had to force my way through it. Almost no flavor and the metallic aftertaste was unpleasant to say the least. Not bad looking, though.

    Back in college I would often treat myself to a six pack if I had some extra cash or I was just feeling special. It's a very good dunkel, completely different in taste from regular Heineken Lager. The heavier flavor and thick appearance are great. Although not real complex in flavor I think the overall taste does this beer justice. My biggest drawback is the over-inflated price of Heineken. If I want to enjoy a good dark beer I can save a couple of bucks and pick up lots of other choices just as good if not better than this one.
