Pours a very tall brown frothy head. Doesn’t collapse very fast. You can "hear" the thickness as you pour it into the glass. VERY hoppy beer with a nice sweetness in the aftertaste. They say there are 11 hops in there. WOW! Never played with that many myself. Bet this will be nice after its had a couple of years to mellow with age. Dark brown color. Plan to run down to Bevmo and pick up a few more bottles to lay down. If anyone wants any hit me up soon with some unique trade offer that I can’t get here in California.

Bomber pours very dark, actually opaque, in the tulip glass I’m using. It has an initial two inch light mocha colored head. Initially the aroma is light. All I get is a faint pale malt aroma and a hint of fruitiness. The flavor however created a “wow” response upon the initial taste. Yummy. The taste begins rich and malty with roasted malts, burnt malts and chocolate malts. Then it turns fruity with the yeasty esters of sweet dark grapes, raisins, dates, prunes and pepper. Then the ABV starts to become apparent toward the finish. Underneath the maltiness and fruity esters is a mild hop bitterness that runs the length of the length of the taste experience. This could really use more age before it really peaks. I have a nice tidy space in my cellar for some of this.
Opened my last bottle today (20170818). This has aged wonderfully the ten years it’s been in my closet. Dark roastiness with a layerof burnt malt, sweet toffee and then a faint sense of sweet fruity esters and a blunted medley of hops. Wow. The original rating was 3.9. This is far better than that now.Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3
On tap at the Vintage Estates in Boardman Ohio, such a great place! Very nice pour, really black and fairly opaque. Has some orange tinge on the corners were the light shines thru. Big chocalte mousse head that fades to a froth after a few minutes. Nice sweet mild candy aroma with an olfactory background of floral hops. Taste is somewhat hop or malt bitter and it is pretty interesting how this brew’s taste evolves. Initially its sweet and happy, just for a nano-second, then it coats your mouth with a giant alky and near whiskey finish. Syrupy at times. Hops certainly make their impression in this brew. Bitter lingering alky hop medicinal finish, tastes just like it’s 11% rating.

Extremely dark ruby red with a long lasting cap that towers over my glass. Aroma is toasty vanilla yum with very odd smelling hop that I can’t place. Hit subtle hints of soya sauce in here. Highly drinkable intense flavor. Sweet mild soya sauce, French vanilla coffee, walnuts, and toast. Flavor is so strong but never gets sharp. Bla blab la I could keep listing flavors forever here but for some strange reason I find this beer boring, it’s just not that fun to drink. There is really nothing here I want to drink again but it taste good! Just hit some sweet salty plum or possibly raisin. Maybe I’m just not in the mode for the bee tonight……………..Marks are probably low

there sure is a lot going on in there. almost too much, but somehow they pull it off. definitely a sippin' beer. malty and hoppy at the same time, with a little funkiness and dark fruit flavors. extreme.

22oz bottle shared by bfeldmann. Orangey brown, probably more brown, nice little initial head. Aroma was dried fruits, piney resinous hops, roasted malts. Flavor followed suit, interesting play of roasted darker malts, chocolate, some dark fruits with a full hop profile. Mouthfeel was full yet with a light dryness, no sticky aspects. Nice sipper of a bwine!

Pours a deep brown color, almost to the point of it appearing black with amber accents. Lots of chocolate and molasses in the aroma with just enough alcohol so you know it's there. The flavors pretty much follow suit with a bunch of chocolate and molasses up front with sweet plums and figs following and a light dry hopped finish. Very easy drinking for a 10%+ beer. This is good. My only complaint is that it's a touch too sweet, which takes a little bit away from the overall enjoyment of the beer.

This beer poured a dark brown to black color. The aroma consists of chocolate, coffee, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor had a slight citrus presence I did not pick up in the aroma. I could also taste some coffee, chocolate, dark fruit like raisins. Overall is was an excellent beer.

I've got to be honest, Bluez drank the first half of this bomber about a month ago, with the rest in the fridge since then with a wine stopper, so the head and carbonation were lacking. It still poured a beautiful dark dark brown with nary a bit of light shining thru when held to light. The aroma is of espresso, nuts and maybe (?) cherry? No noticable alcohol aroma which could be attributable to the aging. The flavors melded well, with coffee and chocolate noted, some mild fruit aftertastes. This is a well heeled 11% brew. Certainly a sipper I'd enjoy again with a mild cigar next to the pool.
