A deep mahogany colored beer, hinting at an intense experience. The lacy textured, off white head is small, but with great hang time, settling eventually into a thick soapy ringlet that spreads atop the body and up the sides of the glass. The nose is mild, vanilla and oak. The tasting more pronounced, but never as intense as on first pour impressions. The vanilla, the oak and a smooth bourbon are evident. This mone may be high in alcohol, but it is so well crafted that the alcohol blends so subtly well, in. Really a nice relaxing drink, in a medium bodied beer.

Aroma is fairly strong and malty with a tasty woody overtone and a bit of spice. It pours a dark, coppery amber with a thin off-white head. Flavor is woody and a little malty, with quite the alcohol bite. Texture is fairly smooth, but has a good alcohol nip - which should be fine for a barleywine! Definitely for barleywine nuts - I hope they give it a good high rating!

Dark amber color and sweet aroma. Very strong brew, fairly strong alcohol taste...after a few sips your mouth numbs a bit and you're good to go. A chewy and tasty brew. I found this on tap at the Baltimore Street Grill in Cumberland, MD.

This is a real solid barleywine from Clipper City. 2008 version. Copper colored pouring a decent sized initial head considering the abv and style. A pleasant aroma of plums, figs, some alcohol fumes and cherries and nice intro to what you're going to get. There's a lot of sweet malt and dark fruit in the flavor, some caramel, and a bit of a hop bite in the finish. This beer is obviously very young but it's a good, easy drinking barleywine right now that still seems lighter than the 10% it is.

Brown 12 oz bottle in a big clear tumbler. Alarming alky ethanol olfactory, do I perhaps even smell some rubbing alcohol in there? Orangy colored iced tea appearance, looks very pretty with the sunset shining thru it, appears viscous and sparkling. Quite strong initial alky taste impressions. This is going to be a buzzy session. No lacing except a g-string. Coating without much carbonation. 2 bottles of this and yer done. Terrible, uness bitter beer, on style! heheheh s4L3f1t3o4

KSBF07. Pour was full ruby-brown, nice head and lacing. The aroma was rich malts, cedar type notes, toffee and caramel. The flavor was rich caramel and darker malts with toffee, cedar, vanilla, and roasted earthy hoppy finish. The hops on this thing were very balancing and enjoyable. Was surprised to see this rated so meh. Good stuff, CC!

This Barley Wine pours a deep orange color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is malty, hoppy and sweet. A medium bodied Barley Wine. Malts are fruity, caramel and sweet. Touch of melon. Hops are earthy and floral, assertive without being over the top. The hops and malts balance fairly well; still it’s a little more malty than hoppy. It does an excellent job of hiding the 11% alcohol. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

I really liked this barelywine. It poured a beautiful dark amber/orange color with a nice looking hread. The aroma was not overpowering at all, but actually on the sweet side. I almost expected the flavor to be a bit heavy but it wasn't at all. There was a somewhat nicely sweet taste with the power of the alcohol coming through.
