Dark brown, looks black from a distance, but not close up. Creamy, khaki head has lasting power at a thin layer, although on the higher end of the carbonation range for the style. Alcohol is strong on the nose. Cherries, dried fruit and chocolate. The flavor is sweet, but not cloying as it's not rich enough to be cloying. The flavor is a bit lighter than I'd really like, but perfectly balanced, although the alcohol is definitely not hidden.

from previous notes This is a very nice Imperial Stout. Medium bodied, tan head, with a cocoa powder aroma, this goes down pretty smoothly. The flavor is roasty/chocolatey. It's not as 'big' as other imperials, but still very good.

Eclipse black color. Large full tannish head. Aroma is choclately. A full bodied Imperial Stout. Malts are roasty, chocolate and coffee. All sorts of chocolate flavors are mixed in with hints of dark fruits and vanilla in this very tasty beer. Very smooth. Nice dry finish. Touch of alcohol bite as well at 9.9%. This is a Imperial Stout that’s in the same class as Alesmith and Stone. Well worth seeking out. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

This beer was sampled at the 12 Hour Belgian Beer Festival in Pizza Port Carlsbad and comes courtesy of Dr. Bill. This beer pours a dark brown to black color with a non-existent head and no lacing to speak of. The aroma is coffee, espresso and dark roasted malts, pretty basic and unimpressive. The flavor is medium bodied which was sort of a surprise..i was almost expecting more. The flavor is almost lactic in some moments with vanilla, coffee and roasted malt dominating...but once again that subtle lacticness would make a presence and kill anything that the coffee and espresso were trying to prove. A much thinner body than i would have expected for 9.9%, but then again, absolutely no presence of it in the beer. Some chocolate in the finish, but also that damn lacticness.

This imperial stout pours with a black body topped by a thick brown head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet yet bitter and sour with a note of alcohol and a roasty note as well as vanilla. The flavor is sweet and malty with notes of vanilla, coffee and alcohol. Very nice. Full bodied and smooth.
