Historically so called due to the flavour of the beer, whose roasted malt and caramel sugars produce the ‘nutty’ palate of this dark, smooth ale. Priming sugars are later added to impart a background sweetness.

Your welcome jeff... I dont actually really remember this beer, but I dont remember it being as bad as you indicate. You rated Mountain Crest higher....and Big Rock Alta Draft.... hmmmmm..... I remember it being fairly watery and the like. I did have one of their beers cask conditioned once, it was much better than the two I brought to Canada.

Thanks Mitch for hiding beer in your bum on the plane back from the UK. Deep brown brew with no head and no carbonation. The aroma is decent with nuts, light malts and a bit of toffee.... airy. There isn’t much for flavour here. Icky hops, bland and flat watered down rootbeer with a light almond and a touch of fruit. What did I expect from a 3% beer? It was worth it trying it though.
